Terms of Use & End User License Agreement

These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Boat Maintenance Log (com.saltmarshapps.boatlog), our companion mobile applications, and https://saltmarshapps.com provided by Saltmarsh Apps LLC (“Saltmarsh Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the application, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. License Grant & Platform Terms

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Saltmarsh Apps LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the application on iOS, iPadOS, or Android devices that you own or control. For applications downloaded from the Apple App Store, these Terms incorporate and supplement the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

2. Free Tier, Auto-Renewing Subscriptions & Lifetime Unlock

Boat Maintenance Log offers a free tier (1 vessel, date-based reminders, and up to 20 maintenance log entries) and optional Boat Log Pro upgrades:

• Boat Log Pro Monthly (boatlog_pro_monthly): $4.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
• Boat Log Pro Yearly (boatlog_pro_yearly): $34.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
• Boat Log Pro Lifetime Unlock (boatlog_pro_lifetime): $34.99 one-time non-consumable purchase (no recurring charges).

Subscription & Trial Disclosures (Apple Guideline 3.1.2):

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the 7-day free trial period, if offered and not canceled).
• Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period or free trial.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the selected plan rate ($4.99/month or $34.99/year).
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your device’s Apple ID Account Settings → Subscriptions (iOS/iPadOS) or Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions (Android).
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
• You may restore active subscriptions or your one-time Lifetime Unlock on eligible devices at any time by tapping Restore Purchases in the app’s Settings or Paywall screen.

3. Local On-Device Storage & User Backups

All vessel records, engine-hour logs, maintenance entries, ownership cost items, imported CSV rows, and attached photos are stored locally on your device inside an on-device SQLite database. Because Saltmarsh Apps LLC does not store a copy of your database on remote servers, you are responsible for maintaining backups of your device and exporting backup bundles or PDF reports before resetting or replacing your device.

4. Owner Log Disclaimer (Not a Marine Survey or Professional Advice)

Boat Maintenance Log and any exported PDF service histories or ownership cost reports are owner-maintained record-keeping tools provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute a certified marine survey, mechanical inspection, seaworthiness certification, Coast Guard compliance record, or legal, tax, or insurance advice. Always follow your vessel and engine manufacturer’s official service manuals and consult a qualified marine technician or accredited marine surveyor for safety-critical inspections.

5. Warranty Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the application is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind. Saltmarsh Apps LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, mechanical failure, or property damage arising out of or related to your use of the application.

6. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
